Hi beautiful friends,
Let me start with a big thank you for your responses to my last newsletter about where I have been this past month. It really means so much, and I love when you share your journeys with me. It truly touches me so deeply.
I got a little break in between Santa Fe and heading to the Omega Institute in New York for the Chronic Pain Retreat, so I headed home to Nashville for 5 days. I received an unexpected gift: my best friend, Jed, also happened to be in town at the same time. My friends are truly a lifeline for me; I don’t know what I would do without them. I honestly believe my truest spiritual gift is collecting the most beautiful souls. I truly have the best friends in the world. I am convinced of it.
On that same note, I’m currently staying at one of my best friends, Amber’s, home for a few days because I rented out my house for the summer as I thought I would be gone for two full months. I can’t tell you what a comfort it is to be with her and her precious family. Being in Santa Fe was beautiful and loaded, and I met wonderful people and got to know a few friends way better. I’m so grateful for this, but there’s nothing like being with your ground zero friends. Amber probably knows me better than most people do in my life. She is one of the steadiest, brightest and funniest people I know. We are very different but there is so much deep love and respect between us. If you read my book, she is the friend I met two weeks after my husband had left. I feel like God, the universe, the divine (whatever you want to call your higher power if you have one) gifted me this precious soul, and I can’t begin to tell you how many tears of gratitude I have shed over her.
When I went through an incredibly dark time in 2019 as I was ending another 7-year cycle, I moved in with her and her husband for a few weeks because I was struggling so greatly. I didn’t sleep for almost two months and felt like I was losing my mind (not sleeping definitely does that to you.) The way she showed up for me as a friend was one of the most beautiful gifts of my life. I will forever be so moved and touched by her love.
I would love to spend time with y’all talking about how to cultivate, maintain and honor friendships as an adult. Would this feel good to you?
I am thinking of doing a Q&A night this month with my best/soulmate, Jedidiah Jenkins, (the one who happened to be in Nashville at the same time as me last week) on friendship and anything else you may have questions about for us. Would y’all like that for our monthly gathering? Last month’s emotional release night was so fun, and I will for sure be doing more of those, but I thought this could be a fun option also.
I have struggled in many many areas of my life, but making friends has always been more natural and easeful for me. I know that isn’t the case for everyone and I would love to dive into that more if that would be of interest to y’all. It especially seems to be a lot harder to make new friends as we get older or move to new places.
I have made plenty of mistakes with friendships over the years but have learned so many important and beautiful lessons. It’s something that matters deeply to me, and I have cultivated both deep, beautiful male and female friendships in my life. I constantly say I think I am the richest person I know in friendship. My daddy use to say if you have one amazing, loyal friend in your life, call yourself lucky. Well…l I guess I could say I am the luckiest girl alive because I have so many more than that! Thank you, thank you, thank you universe!
XX,
Ruthie
A new Love’s Invitation conversation with Robert Mulhall
I’m so thrilled to share with y’all this conversation I had with my friend and brother, Robert Mulhall. We met at a training this past year. On night one I instantly felt his grounded presence and knew I wanted to know him. I’m so excited to introduce him to y’all!
Here’s a sneak peek of our beautiful talk where Robert shares his experience with non-dualism.
I can’t wait for you to listen to our whole conversation and hear what you take away!
Keep reading to see what’s coming up in the Love’s Invitation community.
