This absolutely SHOCKED me about myself!!!
Join me Thursday, January 30th at 12:30PM CT for Intro to Shadow Work
Hi beautiful friends, I hope this finds you well.
In this video, I share a personal piece of information that I discovered about myself that literally shocked me. As I started studying shadow work the past 5 or 6 years, unconscious patterns started showing themselves to me. This video is about one of the most painful times of my life, when a wire pierced my brain stem a year into my marriage and I began living in a bed (which lasted 7 years). I had no clue that on some unconscious level, I got some really deep needs met during that time (while hating my life and shaming myself for being a “broken woman”, which of course kept me deeply stuck in that cycle.) No one on this planet heals through shame, hate or blame!!!!
I would love to hear your thoughts on this video and if you can let yourself be curious about certain painful patterns that keep showing up in your life, what unconscious needs could possibly be met by staying in this pattern?
I know this can seem a bit out there, but I promise you, when you start working and learning to love, be gentle with, and care for these patterns, they are able to shift!
On Thursday, I will be teaching a class on shadow work 101 for all of my paying Substack members, and I would love to have you join us! If you are unable to attend live, you will get the recording. I can not wait to dive in with you! This work is juicy and can be fun to play with! (details on how to join are below)
Sending you and all your parts, and all your patterns, SO SO SO MUCH LOVE! Ruthie

Intro to Shadow Work
Intro to Shadow Work
Join me for an intro to shadow work on January 30th at 12:30 PM Central Time on the new moon. As Carl Yung says, “Until we make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” This is a chance to explore and integrate parts of yourself that are often repressed or hidden to try to keep us safe. These are often parts of our personality that we may not want to acknowledge or we may have been taught are “bad, evil, or sinful”. Shadow work is such loving and compassionate work and an opportunity to become more self-aware and accepting of yourself.
If you cannot attend live, the event will be recorded and sent out to all paid subscribers.
