I've recently been reading several of Arial Lawhon's books. She writes historical fiction based on innovative and heroic women. I first read Frozen River which was about an 18th century mid-wife in Maine (based on her diary), very fascinating. My favorite author is Barbara Kingsolver, her latest book Demon Copperhead was raw and intense but a lot to learn. Jodie Picoult's book Sing me Home is beautiful and relatable on many levels and scary (not horror scary), but that's all I'll say--a must read. Last Saturday, I laid on the couch unable to move due to a stomach virus--I watched the entire series of Black Doves with Keira Knightly and other British stars. It was violent but good acting and kept me wanting to watch more.

Currently reading If Women Rose Rooted by Sharon Blackie. It’s a beautiful walkthrough of connecting women’s wisdom back to the land, full of ancient myths and personal stories. I’m so enthralled I’m underlining in it!
