What I Am Loving Right Now
Reflections, Inspiration, and What’s Sparking Joy as I Step Into 2025
Happy 2025 my beautiful friends! How are you feeling about the new year? I personally had a ton of momentum at the end of the year. But after getting sick and diving into the holidays, it felt like everything got halted after that. I have been leaning into wintering but also feel a bit of (self-imposed) pressure to have some of my 2025 figured out and as of right now it is very gray. I have invested in some really big ways into my business for this year which feels exciting and scary but I'm also taking some big risks and stepping into a lot of unknowns. I have NO CLUE what this year holds for me yet and I am trying to let that be okay. I am doing my daily meditations and nervous system practices to feel safe being exactly where I am and to help with the next right steps.
I thought today I would share a few things that I am loving right now:
Have you listened to The Telepathy Tapes yet? Holy crap if not, I can not recommend them enough to you. Jed (Jedidiah Jenkins) was in town for the holidays and while we were hanging out last week he suggested I listen and said it was right up my alley. I started listening that night and DID NOT SLEEP because my body was literally buzzing listening to these episodes. It dives into the lives of non-speaking autistic children who are taught to use a letter board to communicate. For most of their lives, most people had thought they were not intelligent because they could not speak or control their bodies and so often they were written off. Come to find out these beautiful souls are off-the-chart intelligent and are able to communicate telepathically with people who truly believe in them and with other non-speaking autistic folks. What they share about God and consciousness is everything I believe and more and it is everything I have remembered from remembering my near-death experience through hypnotism. They have SO MUCH to teach us. They are truly light workers in this world and I hope and pray this podcast changes so many non-speaking autistic children's lives.
Speaking of, a week or two before Jed told me about that podcast I had watched this short documentary on a non-speaking autistic girl’s life. It is called Makayla's Voice. This gorgeous soul is a prolific poet and writer. I had the chills all over, hearing her writing and how it has been to navigate the world while being in silence and not being able to control her body and emotions at times. It is stunning!
I am a bit late to the game but I also went hard on watching couples therapy during the break.
I had heard great things about that show but had never seen it before, and holy cow did I love it. These really brave couples agree to have their therapy sessions recorded and WOW are they raw, heartbreaking, beautiful, and illuminating. I am inspired by the therapist who helped them understand themselves, their childhood wounding, and why they are behaving and relating the way they are. It is truly breathtaking.
I had an intensive with a client on Friday and another one coming up next week and I sit in awe that this is the work I get to do. The fact that I get to witness these incredible souls expand and change their minds, and alchemize pain is one of the greatest privileges of my entire life. It also leaves me deeply humbled by what my soul has lived through and remembered in this life because I know I couldn't be this version of me or do this work if I had not lived through absolute hell and learned so many tools to alchemize deep pain. I am so in love with this work. Grateful grateful grateful.
Those are the things I have been loving the most in the last few weeks. Is there anything lighting you up right now? Books to read? Shows to watch? Podcasts to listen to? Music you are loving? I would love your suggestions. I am a ferocious reader and don't have many books in my queue at the moment. I would love to hear some of your favorites!
Sending so much love to you all. So excited to learn and unlearn with you in 2025! Xx, Ruthie

I've recently been reading several of Arial Lawhon's books. She writes historical fiction based on innovative and heroic women. I first read Frozen River which was about an 18th century mid-wife in Maine (based on her diary), very fascinating. My favorite author is Barbara Kingsolver, her latest book Demon Copperhead was raw and intense but a lot to learn. Jodie Picoult's book Sing me Home is beautiful and relatable on many levels and scary (not horror scary), but that's all I'll say--a must read. Last Saturday, I laid on the couch unable to move due to a stomach virus--I watched the entire series of Black Doves with Keira Knightly and other British stars. It was violent but good acting and kept me wanting to watch more.
Currently reading If Women Rose Rooted by Sharon Blackie. It’s a beautiful walkthrough of connecting women’s wisdom back to the land, full of ancient myths and personal stories. I’m so enthralled I’m underlining in it!
